Compart AG

Compart AG

Compart was founded in Böblingen in 1992 as Compart Systemhaus GmbH – at that time with the goal of creating a software project and service company (see Compart history). Since 2000 the company has focused on document output and management, a field in which it has made a name for itself: with the processing and management of documents, created in high volumes with compositioning software from other parties, and ready for output to other media including printers, archives, e-mail, fax or for web services. These, in many cases highly-differentiated processes, are found typically in large company printing centers or at service suppliers. They can be managed much more rationally and cost effectively with central control using Compart solutions with a common database and production platform, than was previously possible with separate processes and products.

From this limited company has developed an enterprise group consisting of the parent company, Compart AG and three regional subsidiaries Compart Deutschland GmbH, Compart North America Inc., Compart Iberia S.L. and Compart Nordic ApS. The parent company has become a pure product-based entity which develops solutions for the output management market - the subsidiaries are responsible for sales and product services in their regions.

Apart from its subsidiaries, Compart works with a number of integration partners providing sales and product services coverage for Compart solutions in more and more areas of the worldwide market. Compart products also find their way into additional user applications: A range of OEM partners integrate Compart components into their products and provide them to the market via their sales channels. Because of these factors Compart has grown steadily in the last 10 years and has become established in the market segment, not just in the German speaking region, but increasing in other regions of the world.

The most important foundation for this development is to be found in the investment made in the development of a process-oriented document model – a model used as the basis of all Compart products and solutions. It has been implemented without compromise in terms of platform and format independence as well as in regard to the use of standards and vertical range of development. Using this approach components have been created which can be characterized in a number of ways: On the one hand they are highly modular elements of a solutions architecture possessing a great deal of variability and flexibility which can be combined to create many different processes, while on the other hand attaining high throughput and reproduction quality – tailor made to meet the special requirements of large printing centers.

A family of products and solutions has been developed under the trademark DocBridge®, for the optimal processing of document datastreams in a number of different directions: From the display of various types of documents (DocBridge View), through the comparison of documents in different formats (DocBridge Delta), the conversion, processing and modification of documents in synchronous batch mode (DocBridge Mill) to large database-supported, asynchronous dispatch-spooled solutions (DocBridge Pilot), with which custom mailings for all types of output channel can be created. All products support the complete spectrum of common datastream formats on both the input and output sides (see the format matrix).

DocBridge® is a registered trademark of Compart AG in Germany.
